  • In 2006, I interviewed the environmentalist Lester R. Brown, who at the time was known as “the guru of the environmental movement” and asked him what we as individuals could do to help with climate change. His advice was to sit tight and wait for government and large corporations to take care of things. He seemed skeptical that individuals could do anything. This didn’t make sense to me because I was aware from my two decades of research experience that as people work together, synergy is created, which can be much stronger than change lead by a bureaucracy (or many bureaucracies). Having a burning desire to share these ideas, in 2019 I took a 5-week workshop at San Francisco Film School and started this project.

I created this show for our kids. Children enjoy working and playing together. They usually have less “baggage” than adults. Their thinking doesn’t fall into the traditional siloes of political ideology. Back to Our Nature teaches tools that kids can use to create positive change in the world. This show doesn’t focus on the problems surrounding climate change but instead offers a change in perspective. As children grow, I want them to know that they have more options than what our generation believes we had. Our most innovative solutions are waiting to be discovered by curious minds, working together with synergy on their side.

  • Some people believe that climate change will bring more economic opportunities for things like growing crops as the world warms, which is probably true. Some believe that the polar ice caps melting will enable more trade as ships can more easily transport goods on a more direct route through the Arctic Circle and the Antarctic. But despite the potential advantages, upsetting the balance of nature carries a high price.

I believe that even with the dangers that lie ahead, climate change can serve as a catalyst for people to awaken to their authentic selves and be able to do something to contribute to solutions to these challenges. Much is at stake as our climate begins to change more and more rapidly, but we have an opportunity to create synergy with one another and move forward in a way fosters community and creates a world better than we had before.

    FOUNDER AND BOARD MEMBER

I’m grateful to work with Diane for the last few years on this project. I’m also grateful to be able to make a difference by sharing my ideas, talents, skills and experience. What could be better?

  • Diane Goudy

CURRENT BOARD MEMBER / RETIRED CONSULTANT

Hi, I’m Diane. I am a collaborator, motivator, and organizer. For years, I was blessed with a very satisfying teaching career. I encouraged my students to have a growth mindset. They often heard “we need to leave our comfort zone” to grow. As Tamara’s consultant, I found she was encouraging her “audience” to also have a growth mindset. I listened as she explained her vision of

BEINGAUTHENTICTODAY.COM. Tamara’s goal was to share her authentic journey and to extend an invitation for others to share theirs. As you engage in the many website opportunities, I hope you will feel encouraged to accept and enjoy your uniqueness. I have been honored to be part of this project and my hope is that you are blessed in the experiences we created for you!

May your website experience strengthen you and bless you!
